Day Nine and a Little More

Today, you are going to get a special treat! I am going to blog my day nine AND I got invited from my pal, Tam, to play tag and answer 8 questions. I love questions. I love blogging. I love Thursdays. Here goes:

Day Nine: Two words to describe your life right now.

1. Hectic
2. Happy

To simple words to describe my life right now?! That is hard. There is so much going on and so much I could tell you about!

Now, onto the 2nd part of this post today:

These are "8 Questions" that Tam would love for me to answer:

1. If I could own 1 purse, what would it be?

Ok, this was hard for me, for several reasons. The first being reason being that a girl could never just own one purse. Different occasions require different purses. The second being I am not a huge designer loving purse lady. But here is my answer:

If I could choose one purse, it would be a crossbody bag of some kind. Now, I know this may not be your style of choice, but hear me out. I go to lots of games, events, concerts, etc and a crossbody is the best kind of purse for these occasions. Just throw it across you, and go. You don't have to worry about your weight shifting all to one side with a shoulder bag. If this was my purse of choice and I had to attend a fancy event, I would probably tuck the strap and carry it like a clutch. Casual problemo...solved!

2. What is the one place you want to travel to that you haven't yet?

Easy answer. New York City. I am dying to go there. I want see the lights, the hustle and bustle, the random celebrity, the homeless weirdos, the millions of people, the MET, Our Lady Liberty, etc. My mom, aunt and g-ma went when I was in 5th grade, ( I cried everyday because my dad couldn't do my hair) and I am determined to take a trip with my mom.

3. What are your top 3 favorite movies?

All of my favies are oldies, but goodies. I have watched these movies over and over again and they never get old.

4. What was your favorite book as a child AND as an adult?

My favorite book as a child was the Little House on the Prairie series

And my favorite book as an adult, and I know this is probably everyone's favorite and completely unorginal, is To Kill a Mockingbird. Such a classic.

5. What is your favorite dish to cook?

I love to cook all kinds of things, but I think my favorite is my mom's recipe for lasagna. I have perfected it and my friends love it. Laina tells me I am good at it, and if Chef Laina tells me I am good at it, then I must be!

6. Tell us about your "SSB". (AKA, your Secret Single Behavior)

Well, since I have never lived with anyone romantically, this really isn't an issue. But here are some of my SSB's if I were to have a live in fella:

I like to go to bed sans makeup....I know I should wash my face every night but, let's be honest, I don't. And when I stay the night with my significant other, I never wash my face. And I never take off my mascara.

I like to come home from the gym and lounge in my filth... Ok, kinda gross, but so true. If I have a night off from the boyf, I like to come home from the gym, cook dinner, watch TV, and do all of this in my workout clothes. Don't judge me.

I like to eat whatever I want....The boyf doesn't like veggies. I do. So when he is gone, I get my fill of veggies and I don't have to hear it from him.

I like to watch girly shows...I like Gossip Girl, Grey's, Desperate Housewives, 90210, etc. He likes ESPN. No compromise when he is gone-dola.

7. What is your #1 pet peeve?

My #1 pet peeve is when I have met someone and the next time I see them, they don't remember me. It drives me insane. If Billy and Ozzie are reading this (which I am fairly certain they are not, I know you are tired of hearing this rant). But really ladies, it seems to only happen with girls when they just don't want to remember who I am. I mean, I am by no means a local celebrity, but Tulsa is fairly small, and we run with a tight circle and there are connections everywhere. I know that I am oddly weird about knowing people and remembering faces and such, but I can't stand when people act like they haven't met me. I love when they say, "we haven't met, I'm so and so", and I get to come back with, "Yes, we met at ____." Bam.

8. Who is your ultimate style icon?

I'm sorry Tam. But it is totally Jennifer Anniston. I love her everyday style. So breezy and comfy, yet so cute. She is a tiny little thing and can rock a pair of jeans like no other. Her red carpet style never fails either.

Day Eight: Three turn ons

I consulted with Elaina, and we have decided to change this blog topic to 3 attractive qualities. Here goes:

3. Open communication. There is no greater way to bond with someone than to be honest and talk openly. Bottling up your feelings with only result in questioning how the other person really feels.

2. Small gestures. I love small, thoughtful gestures. I love to receive them and to give them.

1. Ok, this is more geared towards the actual topic of this day: the hand on the side of the face during a kiss. Nothing is better than that.

Day Seven: Four turn offs

4. Bad teeth
3. Bad breath
2. Neediness
1. Immaturity

Day Six: Five people who mean a lot to you.

I'm sure if you are a blog reader of mine, you are well aware of the people that mean a lot to me. But anyway, here goes: (and I may have added one to the list. I could barely choose 5, cut me some slack!)

1. Lauren Heathcock: My little mini me. She has been my best friend since the moment she the moment she was born.
2. Allison Heathcock: No one makes me laugh more than this girl. Seriously, she is hilarious.
3. Jordyn Heathcock: So sweet and so ornery at the same time. I just want to eat her up.

4. My Mom: There is no one else in the world that I can trust like my mom. She loves me unconditionally, as I do her. I have to keep this short and sweet or I might tear up.
My Dad: Hands down the best dad ever. He would literally give me the shirt off his back. He does anything and everything for anyone and never asks for anything in return.

5. Katie Lauck: My first cousin but more my sister. My Paris partner, my best friend.

Day Five: Six things you wish you could change or you wish you’d never done

6. I wish I had gone on a that date with Sean Ruark. He asked. I had never been on a date and was nervous. How lame.

5. I wish I had gone to grad school.

4. I wish I could change my hairstyle in 6th grade. It was awful. No one told me.

3. I wish I could change the world of daycare so that working parents had better options and felt more confident leaving their children.

2. I wish I had the nerve to go brunette, just to try it and see if I liked it.

1.I wish I had gone to OSU my freshman year of college and lived in the dorms. Maybe it would have been a good experience for me.

Day 4: Seven things that cross your mind a lot

1. Is this concealer covering my dark circles?
2. I wish Katie and Kristin lived closer.
3. What should I do at the gym tonight?
4. When will I see my nieces again?
5. I'm already hungry for lunch and it's only 11 AM.
6. I wish I could get my hair done every 8 weeks.
7. My canker sores hurt.

Day 2: 9 Things That Most People Don't Know About Me

Here goes:

1. I like to brush my teeth in the shower in the mornings
2. If the volume of something is numbered, I like for it to be on an even # or an interval (15, 25, 35, etc). An odd # that is not an interval bothers me.
3. I dislike overhead lighting. A lot.
4. Kenny G's Christmas album is one of my all time favorites.
5. I have no artistic ability whatsoever. I cannot draw to save my life.
6. I like my tomatoes diced, not sliced.
7. Sometimes I feel inadequate in the world today because I do not have a master's degree.
8. Every now and then, on my lunch break, I consider drinking a beer at home. Don't worry, I never do it.
9. I am convinced I will have only boys when I have babies. I don't know why, but it is what I envision.

Ten Days: Day 1

Stolen straight from Elaina. She stole it from someone else's blog. But hey, we all need to steal blog ideas every now and then!
Over the next 10 days, I will blog about the following:

Day One: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now.
Day Two: Nine things about yourself that most people don’t know.
Day Three: Eight things you couldn’t live without.
Day Four: Seven things that cross your mind a lot.
Day Five: Six things you wish you could change or you wish you’d never done.
Day Six: Five people who mean a lot to you.
Day Seven: Four turn offs.
Day Eight: Three turn ons.
Day Nine: Two words that describe your life right now.
Day Ten: One confession.

I also will probably not complete this in ten days because I don't blog on the weekends. I blog at work. Sshhhh...

Here goes: Ten things you want to say to ten different people right now

1. Blake Lively: Seriously, can your hair be that amazing?

2. Bryan and Erin (they count as one): Thank you for giving me the 3 best presents of my life

3. Britney Spears: Girl, you had the world at your fingertips. Should have never cheated on Justin Timberlake.

4. Laina: Good thing I shrunk that romper then, huh?

5. Katie: Thank you for letting me be your maid of honor. I will forever remember that day.

6. Deeya: Thank you for sending Kate and I to Paris. My life has never been the same.

7. News on 6 in the Morning: Please stop having Jamie McGriff report for you. She is really bad.

8. My parents: Words cannot describe my gratefulness

9. Gym guy: Please stop talking to me, especially when I am running and have my iPod in.

10. Erin: Thank you for marrying my brother and becoming my sister. You fit our family better than I could have ever imagined.

Fall Faves

Fall is right around the corner, and while I will greatly miss my summer dresses, I am looking forward to getting cozy in some cardigans and leggings. Here are my fall favies that I am looking forward to:

1. Leggings. I love them with all my soul. They are thin, cotton, black. What else do you need?
2. Cardigans. I aim to have one in every color this season.
3. Black skinny jeans. I bought my first pair last fall and I wore them out. I just found a cute pair at Old Navy for $20. Score!
4. Boots. I have my eye out for the perfect pair of camel/caramel colored boots. My calf is apparently larger than the general poplulation, so I need the circumference to be larger than normal. My wallet is preparing for this purchase.
5. Scarves. I have loved these for a while but I have decided this year to incorporate them more into my daily outfit, instead of just something I take off with my coat.
6. Black flats. Cannot have enough pairs.
7. Tunics. See #1. They are a force to be reckoned with.

Headed down to Dallas this weekend to see the family. I am so excited to see Katie and Louie's wedding video! I haven't been back since the wedding in March, so I hope Katie and Kristin don't mind when I tackle them cause I am so excited to see them.

Orange!

How bout them Cowboys!! Big win Saturday night for my Pokes. Although, the game is somewhat of a blur since I sat with my nieces. All I really remember is making Jordyn giggle, Allison jumping on my lap 57 times, and Lauren dancing to the music during time outs. But nothing is better than spending time with my little ladies, so I am not complaining! Those sweet girls were all decked out in OSU gear, they know the fights songs and Jordy says "Pete Pete" is on her shirt.
Ran into a couple of old friends while walking across campus. This time of year always brings back such wonderful memories for me.

Sunday, I spent 4.5 hours shopping by myself. It was glorious. But for some reason, when I spend too much time alone like that and in almost silence, I get a head ache. I think I clench my jaw for some reason.

Monday, Sophie and I got some much needed couch time in and then I had a delicious dinner at Chili's (hush Laina) and was treated to some yogurt heaven at Peachwave. My favorite creation is the original tart yogurt, raspberries, granola and a few chocolate chips.

Found a hole in the sidewall of my tire today, so I got to spend 1.5 hours at Robertson Tire getting a new tire. Why is it that when you are trying to save money, all you can seem to do is spend it?

Pistol Pete's biggest fans
Loving some great football weather
Loving on her new baby doll from Grammy

Pappy, the jungle gym
I have a huge Pistol Pete on my shirt, you just can't see it.

Someone stole my check card #. How dare they steal my life line! I am one of those people that does not carry cash. I use my Visa check card for EVERYTHING. And I get Visa rewards points and then I can cash them in for Target gift cards. Sweet joy. It's a trap though. I spend money to get the rewards points, and then I get a gift card to my favey place, only to use more than the allotted amount, and I spend more money, and get more reward points. It's a vicious cycle, and I am a huge part of it.
Anyway, my momma called this morn to tell me that she thought someone compromised (her word, not mine) my card. There are tons of charges that took place yesterday while I was working. Believe me people, I would love to be out spending $357 on one purchase somewhere in the middle of that day, but reality is, that just wasn't happening. I was probably typing something at my computer.
Luckily my mom works at my bank, so she caught it early and cancelled my card and can help me get the money back. But unfortunately, it is a holiday weekend so it might take longer. Oh well...it's just money, right?

Today, I am sporting my best orange gear for my Cowboys! Take a look at this sweeeeet watch that my cousins Zach and Kristin (remember her here )

Happy weekend, a long weekend at that! Enjoy some college football and nice weather!
