Medicine Woman

I have been struggling with sinus issues for about 2 weeks and I keep all kinds of medicine in my desk drawer. Well I ran out yesterday and this morning I went into the bathroom to my shelf and pulled out my medicine basket. Wow, I have a lot of things in there.
1. Sinus congestion pain
2. Ibprofen (or just 'profen as my aunt calls it)
3. Allergy medicine
4. Special formulated headache pills from a pharmacy in Muskogee
5. Canker sore medicine (if you know me well, you know I use this almost daily)
6. Nasal spray
7.Allegra samples
8. Canker sore mouthwash
9. Peroxyl (hydrogen peroxide & mouthwash mix)
10. Tylenol PM for those restless nights
11. Throat lozenges
And a few more randoms that I don't even know the name of. It is kinda ridiculous and my roomies make fun of me but they sure know where to come when they need drugs!

Went to see "The Proposal" last night with the roomies and it was pretty cute. My favorite part was when Ryan Reynolds took off his shirt. I mean come on, we all know I only went to see that part anyway. He is gorgeous and Sammi believes that there really aren't men that gorgeous in real life; she thinks they are created by a computer program. After looking around in Tulsa, I think I might agree with her!
Kickball playoffs start tonight and we play at 6; the absolute hottest time of day. I bet we will have some refreshments available though :)
Leaving for Dallas tomorrow after work. Really really really wish I could take half a day off and leave earlier but unfortunately I only get vacation after my first year of working and I have already borrowed some time. I think that policy is ridiculous and I can't believe they think it is realistic to limit someone to 2 weeks of vacay for 2 years.
Either way, I will get down to Dallas tomorrow evening and spend a much needed weekend with my cousins, aunt and uncle, grandpa and grandma, other grandma, brother, sister (lets just leave out the in law part) and all my nieces. Oh and of course my mom and dad. Should be a great weekend filled with lots of wedding talk :)

Weekend Festivities

It's Monday and I am tired from the weekend. Monday's are never fun and I really just wish they didn't exist.

Friday: Had taco salad for lunch at work and it made me feel yucky the rest of the afternoon. I knew it would help if I went to the gym so I hit the elliptical after work and immediately felt rejuvenated!
Went to dinner at Senor Tequila's with Sammi, Joe, Steven, Ryan and our friend Billy. Senor's always shows us a good time!
Joe is moving to New York today and we went to Another Round on Brookside and had a little going away get together for him. He got to see a lot of his friends and we had a great time. I would post some pics but they are all on Sammi's camera. Let's just say I found a motorcycle and took some pics that look a lot like the poses they put my in for my senior pics in 2001.
Saturday we had breakfast at Tally's and then headed out to OKC to relax on the hotel bed before heading out to B. Carter's wedding.
The wedding was beautiful and Brian looked as handsome as he always does. The bride was so excited; it was adorable. Then we hit the reception and eventually made our way to the photo booth. All of my college guy friends were there and it was so good to see them. I really love those guys and I wish we could hang out more often. Delaney, J, Q, Jose made the night totally worth the drive.

Elaina and I at the reception

Delaney and Quentin
Headed home early Saturday morning and made a much needed trip to Target to pick up some work clothes. It has been so hot here that I am trying to find sleeveless tops that I can get away with at the work place. Then hit Reasor's for some groceries and relaxed the rest of the evening. I was in bed before 9 and asleep by 10.
I am babysitting little Abby Upton tonight and she called me yesterday to make sure I was picking her up from school. I promised her I was and told her what time I would be there. To a 3 year old, time is very important :)

Getting Ready for the Weekend

So I slacked a little on my blogging this week. I really didn't have much to say so I thought I would put it all in one big update today.

I had a very busy day in Wednesday. I left from work and went straight to the gym. Did the elliptical for 20 min before boot camp started, then sweated my life away from 6-7 in boot camp, then went home and mowed the lawn. I was pooped by 8:30 when I finished and finally got to eat some dinner. I was thinking Arby's! Then I showered, got in bed with my Sophie dog and read more of New Moon until my eyes slammed shut. I often fall asleep with my book and wake up the next morning and have to un-crinkle my book and find where I left off the night before.
Here is pic of Sophie when she was just a baby.

Last night was kickball and we won 9-2. It was one of our best games and we played like champions! It was hot but I didn't care cause we were winning!
Some of the ladies at work decided to have a taco salad day for lunch today and I am really excited about it. I love mexican food and anytime I can get away with eating I certainly will!
Tonight will be busy: gym after work, shower and then get ready for my roomie's boyfriend's going away party. He is moving to New York so we are gonna have some tears in the house come Monday :(
Saturday is wedding time! My friend from college is getting married in OKC (same place you did Nattie) and I am really excited to go to it. I will get to see a lot of old friends and my roomie Laina is going with me and we are sure to have a good time.
I mailed cards to my brother and my daddy for Father's Day and I am really excited for them to see them. I picked out a very special one for my brother because he is a stay at home daddy to the 3 cutest, sweetest, and funniest little girls I have ever seen. I know I am biased :) And the girls really like music cards so Daddy Bryan got a special music card for the whole house to enjoy. And a Happy Father's Day to my daddy to. Simply said, he is the best in the world and I am the luckiest girl to have a dad the sacrifices and does so much for our family and loves me more than I think I even know. Love you, Dad!
Everyone have a great weekend!!

Shake Your Groove Thang

Allison found Erin's Mother's Day card and had to show me how she shakes her booty. It's a music card and she was having the best time shaking it and then laughing at herself!

Big News

Hello Monday! I don't like Mondays. They are always so busy & there is so much to do. And I slept too late on Sunday and it messed up my sleep schedule.

This weekend was great! I got to spend time with Riley and her family. Wendi and I had a great time talking and drinking margaritas. I miss seeing her everyday and I am so glad we have kept in touch. Riley was as sweet and funny as ever!
Saturday I got up early to go to Edmond and see the family. Lauren was playing tee ball that day and Allison was playing blast ball. Blast ball is so hilarious; they run to 1st base and jump on it and it has a horn and it blares. So cute!

Saturday I had a nice dinner at In the Raw with some friends.

Sunday was relaxing; cleaning house and doing laundry. Made a trip to Target and limited myself to only four items when I easily could have spent about $200!

As I was winding down on Sunday eve, I got a phone call from my cousin Katie. She asked me a very simple question, "Will you be my maid of honor?" As I excitedly said yes, I soon realized that meant that Louie has proposed! I jumped and screamed and then started to cry. I am so happy for her and have been waiting for this day to come for her. We had to make a few calls on 3-way and then I was so excited I couldn't fall asleep! Wedding plans are already on my mind.

Heather & Riley's Evening of Fun

Remember when you were young and you didn't get to decide what you did on Friday; it was always decided for you by your parents. Well not anymore ladies and gents. I love when Fridays roll around and I really have something to look forward too.
After work today I am picking up my little friend Riley. She was in my class for 2 years and I love her like my own. The best part about picking Riley up is the look on her face when I get to school and she sees me walk in the door. Being 3 and a half must be so cool. You get to play all day and are easily excited and amused. We are gonna go have dinner at Los Cabos with her parents this evening and enjoy the patio.

Also, I am hoping to finish Twilight tonight. I jumped on the bandwagon a little late and decided to read it. Well actually, my roomie Elaina told me that if I didn't read the series in 2009 that she couldn't be friends with me anymore! I am really enjoying it and it just became really suspenseful!

Tomorrow my parents and I are going to Edmond to see my brother and sister in law and my nieces. I haven't seen them in almost 3 weeks and it is killing me. I will post some pics of the sweet girls after this weekend. I'm sure Jordyn is smiling by now and I can't wait to see it!
Also, anyone that is keeping a record. We won kickball last night 7-5 and it was a glorious, much needed victory. Go Balls to the Wall!!!!

Hump Day (no, not that kind of hump!)

It's Wednesday. Also known as Hump Day to anyone that lived in Stillwater, America for any of their college life. Oh, Stilly, how I miss you! There is something about Stillwater that stays with you forever. I swear if I could turn back the hands of time I would go back and live my college days again. Natalie, I know you are thinking of some interesting times we had! :)

I had dinner with some friends from work last night. Carol is the lady who trained me to take over her position and she was visiting from Chicago. It was so nice to see her and I really miss having her around (especially when I have questions). My boss is such a great guy and it's really nice that we can relax and have a few drinks with the man in charge.

Boot camp again tonight. Gonna be a hot one! 90 degrees and very humid. Yuck. I usually try to run a little before boot camp starts but not so sure that is a good idea when it will be that hot outside.

Just about to get to work on a lovely Excel/Nextgen project for work. Should be fascinating! But good thing is... we have employee appreciation day today and we get to have ice cream bars! I saw them in the freezer.

Weekend Update:
I played softball Friday night and we of course got run ruled but it was a lot of fun and now the season is over. I'll have to wait til summer is over to play again. You know it is too hot for me to play in this Oklahoma heat!

I ran the 5k on Saturday and had my best time yet! I was faster than I expected. I wanted to run it in about 30 minutes and I did it in 29:38. I was very excited! Now, I can't decide if I should run one this Saturday before I go to Edmond or not.....

Got to lay out at the pool for a couple of hours on Saturday thanks to my roomies parents being gone. Read some of my book and got some sun.. and my freckles are there to prove it!

Went out with some friends on Saturday and had a nice time sitting on the patio at Full Moon.

I weeded my flower beds (long over due) and took Sophie for a walk around the neigborhood. She runs right to the door when she sees her leash. I just love that cute doggie :)

Now on to Monday:
Had to start using a time clock at work. We'll see how this goes. I already forgot to clock out for lunch today.

Boot camp starts tonight at 6. Nothing like a good sweat with a cute trainer.

My parents are in Phoenix and drove to see the Grand Canyon last night. I can't wait to hear what my dad thought of it. He has never seen it & my mom said they could not be that close and not drive over there. I am a little jealous cause the last time I was there they had not built the skywalk.

Have a great week! More to come later, I'm sure!

Competitive

Most of you all know me and you know that I love sports. I have played sports my whole life and I really enjoy it. I credit this to my parents and my brother who also love sports. It was very normal growing up to be gone to a sporting event almost everyday. Some of my best times in college were playing intramurals. I also met some of my best friends out on those fields. There is something about playing a competitive sport with someone; it makes you bond very quickly. I had a good friend Rebecca that I played sports with in high school and I got to see her last weekend for a short time and we immediately starting talking about softball and basketball!

I am on a kickball team and a co-ed softball team as well. Both are fun, but the kickball league is so much more competitive. The drinking involved could have something to do with that! We played a great game last night and lost 8-6. It was a rough loss and it makes me so mad and frustrated when we lose. I know, I know, it's just a game but still; I am in it to win!
I have two softball games tonight. I am used to losing though, we get run ruled almost every game and have not won a game. Ever. Oh well, at least we are having fun!

I am looking forward to my 5k tomorrow and also to a little lounging at the pool Saturday and relaxing.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Ok, so here goes. I like to read blogs. And by like to read blogs I mean I have several bookmarked and I check them daily. And when there are no updates I am a little disappointed. Thank you to Natalie who updates almost daily! So I figured it was only fair to make my own blog (in case anyone cares to read it).

This past weekend I was a bridesmaid in my friend Lindsey's wedding. She got married at a church in Muskogee, so I got to go stay with my parents, which always makes my dad happy.

The wedding was beautiful and Lindsey didn't cry nearly as much as I thought she would. Now they are on their Mexico vacation (which Matt kept secret from her) and I can't wait to see her when she gets back.

Here is a picture that my dad took of my by the pool. He was very proud of it.

Now, on to the next thing. I am running a 5k this weekend; it will be my 6th one and I am hoping to improve my time. Wish me luck!

Here are some pics of my sweet, adorable, lovable, funny, and crazy nieces. They light up my day everytime I see them and I wish I could spend more time with them.
