Katie + Louie= Wedding Day Love

Ok friends, I am back to reality! The wedding is over. Tear. Be prepared for a full, detailed recap below.
I have never been more honored than to be Katie's maid of honor and I am so glad I got to be such a huge part in her special day! I am about to cry, so I need to keep on writing!

Day 1- Thursday: Started out with an early alarm and the final little things I needed to pack. My parents were picking me up at 8:00 am so we could hit the road. I am was so anxious to get down to Dallas.. I decided to sleep most of the way so my brain could have a rest from all the planning. We arrived in Dallas and headed for the salon to get mani's and pedi's. It was my mom's first pedicure and I think she really enjoyed the massage chair.

After the pampering, Katie and the other bridesmaids ran over to Zales to get our jewelry cleaned. I would love to see their security video catching me do the Beyonce "Lemme lemme upgrade ya" dance.
The whole family gathered for Dinner at Gloria's on the lake. If you haven't been there, you need to go. The salsa and black bean dips are delish but nothing holds a candle to their sangria swirl margaritas.

After dinner, the girls headed to Katie's to have some drinks and just relax before the luncheon the next day.

Day 2- Friday: The morning started off with 4 girls getting ready in a one bathroom/bedroom apt. That was interesting. We headed to the bridal luncheon around 10:30. The luncheon was at the Chocolate Angel Tea Room in Addison. It was adorable! We were served plates of tiny sandwiches and quiches and then a dessert plate

After lunch, we headed to Katie's apartment to rest before the rehearsal at 5:30. I fell asleep in the chair while watching Saved by the Bell that Katie had recorded. That is why I love her, because she still records SBTB.
After relaxing all afternoon, it soon became a mad dash to get ready and get over to the church for rehearsal. Kent was on his way into town and I was picking him up at the hotel and I was very excited to see him. The church was hot when we got there (I know, I am always hot but I swear it really was hot). Please someone take the initiative when I get married to make sure the church is nice and cool on my wedding day. Nothing worse than a sweaty bride.

We headed to the rehearsal dinner at Black Finn after stopping at the hotel to get Bryan, Jordyn & Kent.

This is one of my favorite pics. Kent captured this and I know Katie will kill me for posting it

Day 3- Saturday: Wedding day!!!! I woke up and couldn't believe that it was time to start getting ready for the day! Well, my first thought was I can't believe the alarm was going off but that is another story. We headed out to get our hair done. Mine was the longest and I think took the longest. But it was sure worth it.
This picture was taken in the bridal room, where guess what...it was hot!!! Two oscillating fans later and we still felt hot but at least we had some moving air.

The beautiful bride and her maid of honor!
It was time to walk down the aisle!! I was feeling so emotional and I made it down most of the way before I started to get choked up. My baby cousin was getting married and she had never looked happier! I was so proud to stand up there next to her. Now it was time to party at the reception!!!

Boom Boom Pow

The weather is beautiful today! Too bad I am stuck at work in an office and can't enjoy. But I will be available all day tomorrow to enjoy it, oh wait....it is gonna be freakin snowing and raining tomorrow!
Having dinner tonight with my parents and some of our best friends of the family. The Farmer's have been our friends for 20 years. I met their daughter Emily when I was 7 and we started attending Boulevard Christian Church. Emily and I spent many hours playing, talking on the phone (well I talked, Emily mumbled) and going on church trips together. She is one of my best friends and the longest friendship I have had! Cheers to 20 years of friendship with you, Emily!
We are eating at Hideaway, which is perfect since OSU is playing hoops tonight and they will have it on the TV.
I woke up this morning at 7:23. My alarm was set for 6:00 am. But I forgot to push set, so I way way overslept. Brushed my teeth, threw on some makeup, tried to straighten my slept on bangs and headed out the door. And I somehow remembered to wear orange to support my Cowboys!

Hitting up the Black Eyed Peas tomorrow night with Sammi, Elaina, Karla, Abbey, & Amanda. So so so excited! I haven't spent much time in Tulsa lately and I am really looking forward to a night out with some of the girlies!

Wedding Numero 2

Good Monday morning! I sound chipper but I am actually exhausted. I want to crawl back into bed and sleep the morning away. It is always so hard for me to get going on Mondays, especially when I have been out of town for the weekend. Kent and I got some good sleep this weekend but for some reason, I still come home exhausted on Sundays.
Anyway, I had a fantastic weekend with some of Kent's great friends. His best buddy Tanner was getting married to his long time love Julie. Kent was a groomsman and he looked as handsome as I hoped :)
Friday night, the rehearsal dinner was in El Reno, so I booked it out of work and headed down I-44 to El Reno. Had to stop at the Micky D's in Yukon and change clothes. I tried to keep my feet off the floor as much as possible..gross. And I left my hanger in the bathroom. Dang, those are good hangers too.
So I got changed and headed to the rehearsal dinner at Tanner's mom's house. It was decorated so well with lights and lanterns in the back yard. Too bad it was freakin cold and we couldn't hang out and enjoy the evening. The food was great (Big Truck Tacos again) and I indulged in more guacamole.
Kent and I waiting on our tacos

After the rehearsal dinner, we headed to Kent's house and busted out some old school Boyz II Men in my car. The boys came over after we got home and they all began to reminisce and I soon fell asleep in the couch. Saturday morning, Tanner was up fairly early and ready to get the day started. We went bowling and had lunch at Red Pin. The best thing about Red Pin bowling alley is that it is not dirty and smelly. However, I did forget socks so I am sure something was smelling. Don't worry, I used about a bottle of sanitizer on my feet as soon as I took the shoes off.
As soon as the boys were headed to the church, I got in the shower and started my process of getting ready. You know, makeup and hair and dresses and shoes and jewelry can take so long but it is so worth it. I don't think there is anything much better than getting all dolled up for the evening.

Fashionista

Since I am attending numerous events with Kent and others this month, I feel like I need a new outfit for everything. My bank account does not feel the same way. Good thing I am a smart shopper.
I have a slight obsession with one shoulder dresses right now. I can't seem to find the perfect one when I am shopping, though. All of them have something growing out of the shoulder or some other odd fixture on the dress. So here are some I looked at today online that I am loving:

Secondly, I am just generally obsessed with Jennifer Aniston's everyday style. Look how cutie she is!

Wedding Season has begun!

Kent and I have officially started wedding season! We attended his cousin Rebecca's wedding this past weekend in Edmond. The reception was at the Will Rogers Theater in OKC. It was a beautiful setting. The wedding started at 7pm. Kent and I pulled into the parking lot at 6:58. I was ready, that's all I have to say. If you know Kent, you know he doesn't look at the clock very often. I had the invitation with address and the gift ready at the door so when he said, "Oh s**t, we have to go!" I quietly grabbed my things and ran out the door with him :)
We attended the rehearsal dinner the night before at the groom's parents house and enjoyed stuffing our faces with tacos and guacamole. The guac was the best I have ever had (wait I take that back, the guac at Don Fran's in Tulsa is better), but it was still amazingly good. And they had margaritas, my weakness!
Satuday Kent has scheduled a golf game and I went to watch the nieces play soccer. Later that evening, I get a text from my brother saying Allison broke her arm! Not playing soccer or wrestling or jumping off the couch, but dancing with Lauren in the living room floor! Bryan said he heard it pop and she was in serious pain, and for a 4 year old, she has an extremely high pain tolerance so he knew something was wrong.
So they went to urgent care and the baby threw up all over the floor and Allison was screaming in pain. She will get her cast this coming Monday (the ortho said the swelling needed to go down) and then poor Allison caught the throw up bug. I swear, I have never known a family that throws up more than this one!
Tomorrow night, OSU vs OU at 6 pm. Go Pokes!
Thursday, packing for another long and very fun weekend with Kent. His best friend Tanner is getting married and he is in the wedding. Oh how I can't wait to see him in a tux. He's so cute :) Now, if I can just figure out how to do my hair....
Rehearsal dinner Friday night in El Reno, wedding Sat in El Reno (gotta find a ride since Kent has to be there at 3) and reception in OKC. Kathy will be there so I promise there will be lots of pics. She's the best photog!

Tid Bits of Information

Most of you know me. But since it's Hump Day, and I don't want to work anymore, I will offer you a little insight into my world.

1. I like lists.
2. I love cardigans. I wear them almost everyday
3. I do not like overhead lights. They are too bright for me. I prefer lamps and or dim overhead lights if necessary. (Kathy- that one was just for you!)
4. I don't like watermelon or canteloupe. Gross. Or bananas.
5. I am thankful for a tall boy so I can wear super tall heels. They make my legs look bangin'!
6. I play with my hair too much.
7. I love hearing the text notification on my cell phone.
8. I am becoming increasingly more obsessed with online shopping
9. I could go the rest of the my life without eating red meat
10. I should really wash my hands more

March Madness

March is here! Hello friends! March is here, which means Spring is right around corner. Spring means sunny weather, shorts, skirts, and dresses. It also means kickball, weddings, concerts, and patios. All things I love.
Life has been hectic to say the least over the past few months. I feel like it all started with a Christmas Eve blizzard and hasn’t really slowed down since that happened. December was busy with holidays, snow, and NYE. January started out with a bang with the Cotton Bowl, birthdays and parties, February involved Valentine’s Day, bridal shower, bachelorette party, Allison’s birthday party, and a couples shower. And now March is here. Please stay tuned and follow closely so you can keep up:

February 27th: Allison’s birthday party @ bowling alley/ OSU b-ball game against numero uno Kansas.

Allison dressed like a little Avril Lavigne rocker and looked so cute. She had a great time bowling with all her pals while most of the adult party attendees watched in excitement at OSU beat the Jayhawks!

After the birthday party, I changed clothes and headed down the street to a couples shower with Kent. The shower was for his friends Tanner and Julie who are getting married March 13th. We had a great time hanging with some of Kent's friends.

Sunday was Lauren's gymnastics event and I got to go watch her compete. She has the perfect little gymnast body and she does every move so well. She takes her time and points her toes. She's a natural, just like her Aunt Heather was at her age.

Now, onto March Madness:

March 6th: Rebecca and Chad's wedding (Kent's cousin) in Edmond.
March 13th: Tanner and Julie's wedding in El Reno, reception in OKC. I get to ride in a limo for this one! Perks of Kent being in the wedding party
March 20th: Black Eyed Peas concert in Tulsa. Boom Boom Pow.
March 27th: Katie and Louie's wedding in Dallas. Kent gets to meet the rest of the family. And I get to be maid of honor. I am so excited for this weekend that I can hardly contain myself.
April 3rd: Lauren's birthday party in Edmond
April 11th: Redbud Classic 5k in Edmond. Kent is running with me. Please remind him that he is doing this.
April 17th: Remember the 10 run in Stillwater. I plan on running the 10k this year.

So there you have it, my weekend schedule for the next 7 weeks. A few book club meetings and dinners sprinkled in a few weeknights makes me a busy gal!
