Allison turns 5

Allison had a princess-pirate themed bash this weekend. We were supposed to have moon bounce but the weather made Erin have to cancel.

All of her friends and cousins came to the house and they had a great time dressed up. I just realized I didn't get any pics of Lauren. She was very preoccupied with getting ready for the party and making sure she was getting some quality time in with Rowdy Red :)
Erin made her a castle cake!

Updates

Last weekend, Bryan and Erin came to Tulsa (and of course my 3 amigos came too) and we enjoyed a day of lunch at Compadre's and then went to see Gnomeo and Juliet. Gnomeo and Juliet was one of the cutest movies I have seen. I sat by Bryan and Erin and we all 3 were laughing throughout the movie. And I appreciated the fact that there wasn't some scary villian or battle scene to scare the girls, like most Disney movies.

Go see it
Allison got her hands on my camera and did a mini photo shoot of us while we were relaxing at the restaurant.

She looks so grown up here :(

Also, Allison celebrated her 5th birthday on the 3rd! I can't believe she is 5 already. She is so funny, athletic, smart, and loving. Can't wait to party with her this weekend. She is supposed to have a Jupiter Jump in the backyard but it is a surprise, so don't tell her. (Good thing she can't read this)

We celebrated Laina's birthday also last weekend and had a cocktail party at her parents house and then went out. We had the best time getting all dressed up and dancing! Also, one of the best things about our group of friends is that we like to bust out in song, in unison, at any time. I hope someone gets this on video some day.

Sidney rocked a tux for the cocktail party

And his wife rocked a fur hat! Love it

End of the night
Rowdy Red and I are eating at Osaka. Yay. And then going to see The King's Speech. Better live up to the Best Picture win.
Tomorrow we are headed to OKC to watch some soccer (boo cold weather) and then celebrate Alley Cats birthday.

Random Fact: I am really into nude nail polish right now. This OPI color looks like the perfect one...and will be even more perfect with a $3.50 off coupon.

Oscar Recap

Because I am sure you all can't seem to find one bit of Oscar recap on the internet, I will indulge you.

Let's get right to it, shall we?

Hosts: I was less than impressed with James Franco. Which I was prepared for. I love Anne Hathaway, and I was hoping she could make him better, but she couldn't. He looked stoned and out of it the whole show. Anne, on the other hand, was classy as usual.
My pick for host(s) next year: Tom Hanks or I would like to see Hugh Jackman again and bring Annie back next year to co-host with Hugh

Winners: Because I haven't seen all of the movies nominated, I can't really give my 2 cents. Lame, I know. But I will tell you that I think Jesse Eisenber (The Social Network) is weird and needs to learn to smile a little. And I have my fingers crossed that Natalie Portman can break the Oscar curse .

Dresses:
Best
Best: Halle Berry
(look at her perfect skin)

Best: Hailee Steinfeld
(very age appropriate and love the length)

Best: Celine Dion
(kills me to put her on this list cause I think she is weird, but she looks great)

Best: Camila Alves
(Love that black dress with the plunging neckline and it has pockets. You know how I feel about pockets in dresses)

Worst
Worst: Nicole Kidman
(looks like a prom dress gone bad)

Worst: Melissa Leo (looks like a table cloth)

Worst: Maris Tomei
(the top is too ill-fitting)

Honorable Mention
Honorable Mention: Reese Witherspoon
(I love the classic look. The ponytail can best be described as a "Barbie look")

Honorable Mention: Scarlett Johansson
(not usually a fan of this much lace, but I love this color)

Honorable Mention: Penelope Cruz
(I love red, AND she just had a baby and looks great!)

Honorable Mention: Natalie Portman
(I can't give Natalie best dressed because I don't like dresses that have an asymmetrical hem. However, I love love love the color and neckline)

Overall Favorite Dress:

Anne's red dress on stage. This was the best pic I could find.
One of my favorite moments was seeing Kirk Douglas present an award. 94 years young and still kickin!

What were your favorite Oscar moments/dresses?
